Bread Quest

Your sister asks one small favor of you: go to the store and buy a loaf of bread for supper. Sounds easy enough, right?

My first game ever, made using RPG Maker 2003's default assets. Made it mostly as an excuse to test out the program, then it got a bit out of hand.
It has some RPG elements, though it’s mostly story-driven. I hope you enjoy it! :)

1 - Download Bread Quest.lzh (it's like a .zip file)
2- Extract
3- Run RPG_RT.exe
4- Enjoy :D
Possible issues
- It's very important that you extract the .lzh file before playing, otherwise your saves will be gone when you reopen the game.
- If for any reason the game doesn't open, visit RPG Maker's official website and download RPG Maker 2003's RunTime Package (RTP). I made sure to include it in the files though.
- If it STILL doesn't open (DirectDraw error) you can try right-clicking RPG_RT.exe, going to Properties, then Compatibility, and changing the compatibility mode.
NOTE: There's currently a bug that might happen in some computers; the game might crash right before the credits are displayed (DirectShow error).
It's related to an old version of DirectX not being installed on modern computers, and I'm currently trying to find a way to fix it. Nothing severe, the game plays like normal, but the credits aren't shown.
If this crash happens, 1) congratulations! you beat Bread Quest! 2) the credits are available to watch in the game files (Movie folder). I recommend MPC-HC.
For the time being, I'll try my best to find a solution! Sorry for the inconvenience!! (Any help or advice is also greatly appreciated!)
